The Bourbon & Rye Club Presents: Whiskey Social #1 at The Avenue Pub

Our first whiskey social event, March 22nd, 4-6pm. The Avenue Pub. New Orleans, Louisiana. Won’t you join us?

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND SPENT SOME TIME WITH US. I had an absolute great time.

Here we go, our first ever Whiskey Social. In an unofficial kickoff to the New Orleans Bourbon Festival, I and some pals came together to put on a free event for anyone arriving on 3/22. It’s being hosted by the fine folks (Blue Oak BBQ’s Phil and Ronnie and the Rambler’s Steve and Ryan) at The Avenue Pub on St. Charles Avenue. This is also a support local celebration of the reopening of the gorgeous whiskey bar upstairs (complete with a balcony OMG!).

Here’s the key details-

  • The event is from 4-6pm on Wednesday 3/22.

  • The location is the upstairs of the Avenue Pub 1732 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans 70130.

  • The event is FREE!

  • 21+ only, bring your I.D. as you will be tasting several responsibly sized pours from the presenting brands.

  • You do not need a New Orleans Bourbon Festival ticket for this event, however we ask that you RSVP through DM HERE so we know how many glasses to wash ahead of time.

  • Presentations from three distilleries with tasting included.

  • Phil from Castle and Key will be kicking us off from 4-430pm

  • Brett from Sagamore Spirit will go from 4:30pm-5:15pm.

  • Chelsey from Still Austin will close us out from 5:15pm-6pm.

  • You’re welcome to continue to hang out after the event, The Avenue Pub has an amazing bar, the downstairs beer selection is lovingly curated, and they have some killer food too (yes, THE chicken sandwich is here!)

  • We said it was free, and yes the event is entirely free, although you should buy some amazing food while you’re here and a frozen Irish to go. Make sure you come back frequently throughout the weekend to reload or unwind.

  • Visitors and Locals welcome!

  • No whiskey experience is necessary, if you’re whiskey curious, this is a terrific opportunity to hear from the brand representatives themselves, learn, and ask questions (remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question!) We encourage you to bring your friends with you.

  • If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I hope to see you all there.
