OLD OVERHOLT 10yr Cask strength!

We told you many, many, many months ago that Beam had some more surprises in store for us RYE fans, and here we go- Overholt 10 year at CASK strength has finally been made official and here we go. Check out this link for the press release and some pre-release tasting notes, don’t worry, I’ll share some info for the link adverse people in the audience.

First of all, another 10 year rye on the market, apparently we’ve been well behaved enough for the gods and goddesses to gift us this release. Additionally it’s cask strength which is a new one for the Overholt line, and comes in at an even proof of 121.

Fantastically this will be a national release albeit in limited (undisclosed quantity at this time) unlike the previous (and extraordinary) 11yr which was PA only.

I’m delighted to see a $99 MSRP that I’ll actually get to pay (you think I wouldn’t take a shot at BT here? Have you read this site?).

The release is listed as “Fall” which could take us through Christmas, but I’d expect to see it sooner than that. Let me know what you think if you get your hands on it before me!

UPDATE 11/9- First in the wild photo we’ve seen.

UPDATE 11/10- Less than 170 barrels in this first release, with it landing now in NYC, SoCal, TX, and PA.
