IN AWFUL LOCAL NEWS….

A New Orleans Bourbon Fest dinner with some incredible people at an incredible place.

In freaking awful local news…. One of our favorite restaurants in all of New Orleans (and the first dinner I ate when finally moving here in 2019) is shuttering 12/20/23. Increased insurance costs, higher food prices, and slower than expected post summer traffic has forced Marjie’s Grill to change their business model. For the paywall NOLA.COM story click the link for full details.

They will be returning but under a different model (think event space, catering, and supper club with fixed menu), and while I’m glad that they’ll be back in some form, it’s sad that incredible places like this struggle and PF Changs (which now has sushi?) continues to thrive somehow. If you’ve known me a bit, you know that supporting local is a big deal to me, and this is why. Our local places are the things that make our city special, and to support them keep our place thriving and innovative. We cannot keep losing these places. STOP GOING TO CHEESECAKE FACTORY when going on vacation, and stop going to cheesecake factory when you live local. GET to the special spots in the neighborhoods and support local like it’s your job!

Locals we have until 12/20 which is the last night of service. Click the link to their website and make reservations NOW.
